Collective Visions Gallery is proud to feature Poulsbo-based artist Bryce Bennett in his upcoming exhibition, Knives & Paint. This captivating show highlights Bryce’s innovative approach to painting, showcasing a collection of lushly carved oil works that explore the harmony of color and texture. Using trowels and knives instead of traditional brushes, Bryce layers his abstracted landscapes with vibrant color chords and spectrums, creating a unique impressionist style that invites viewers to immerse themselves in the beauty and complexity of his work.
Bryce’s journey to becoming an artist has been as vibrant and layered as his paintings. After starting his career as a high school English teacher, he discovered a passion for painting that turned his world upside down and filled it with color. Though primarily self-taught, Bryce has been fortunate to learn from a few master painters who helped him navigate the challenges of his craft. Still, he embraces the role of a “bumbler at heart,” seeing inspiration and beauty in the world around him and translating it into his work, whether through skill or intuition. His art is deeply rooted in the joy he finds in uncovering and celebrating the color harmonies of nature.
Knives & Paint will open on March 7, 2025, during the Bremerton First Friday Art Walk from 5 to 8 PM. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet Bryce, hear about his creative process, and experience his vibrant, tactile works in person. His paintings are a celebration of nature’s beauty, rendered with a sense of spontaneity and depth that resonates with viewers. We are excited to share this remarkable show with our community and invite you to join us for an evening of art, inspiration, and creativity.
